Kosinj
Visit one of that (kind of) places were the past and todays way of living are inserted into perfect environment of endless meadows, beautiful views and river. Take a walk over the bridge (Kosinjski most) wich is 70 meters long, and it was built using the old Croatian bridge building tehnique called „uklinjenje kamena“. Inspire yourself with a rich sacral heritage and find the oldest proof of human activity on this area.
Kosinj is mentioned in 1071. in the letter of Croatian King Petar Krešimir IV. It is assumed that the first and the oldest Croatian book „Misal under the law oft he Roman court was printed in 1483. in the location of Kosinj printing office. Saint Vitus church has glagolitic inscriptions in stone from 1517. and the family crest of Earl Anž Frankopan that stands upside down above the entrance.
